Finally - The City of East Wenatchee is planning to install a signalized crosswalk on 4th Street SE at the So. Kansas Avenue intersection.  Increasing traffic volumes and the relatively high speeds regularly clocked on 4th Street in this area have created dangerous conditions for the growing number of school children and local area pedestrians who frequent this crossing.  According to engineers for the city, the location shown in the circled area on the accompanying photo is scheduled to have the crossing work completed before the school year begins this fall.
